Bernadine’s sharing from Manila
I am a proud mother to 3 IVF babies. My eldest was made in the Philippines while my twins were made in Taiwan. I am equally grateful to both doctors and institutions for making it possible for us to become parents.
My first pregnancy came 8 years after marriage and after countless pregnancy work-ups. My daughter who is now 8 years old was conceived thru the help of Dr. Irene Sy of Center for Reproductive Medicine in Manila. It was a fresh IVF cycle and our first attempt. Following this, I have had 2 failed frozen embryo transfers. Since we already have a child, we were torn between being contented with one child and giving our child a sibling companion. Obviously, it was the benefit of our daughter that pushed us to try IVF in Taiwan.
My cousin, who underwent a successful IVF procedure in Taiwan, recommended to us Mackay Memorial Hospital.
Mackay Memorial Hospital has an International Medical Service Center that caters to international patients. This makes it easy for foreigners who cannot speak Chinese to communicate with them, as they are fluent in English. With the help of electronic mails, all inquiry can also be addressed.
After 6 years of trying, we were again new parents to twins, a boy and a girl. Twice the blessings, twice the fun! Two miracles instead of one!
Our twins are now at their terrible twos. It is such a joy seeing two little kids greet you as you come home from work but it is also a challenge to us in so many aspects. Good luck to us!
