本院111年度經農委會進行科學應用實地查核，成績獲得優等。

動物中心本著服務為主軸，提供動物飼育與管理。配合國際相關法規，每年舉辦研究人員飼育管理技術課程。本中心配合動物保護法之相關規定成立實驗動物照護及管理委員會，所有動物實驗計劃均須經此委員會同意後方得進行，以確保動物福祉。本中心實驗動物種類繁多，包括囓齒類、倉鼠、天竺鼠、兔子、豬及斑馬魚。使用這些動物進行的研究計劃。主要研究有癌症、糖尿病、高血壓、基因治療、腎臟疾病、藥理、免疫、中草藥、藥物動力學、骨科、眼科等。近年來已成功建立基因轉殖技術平台，包含動物品種為囓齒類及斑馬魚。

疾病模式建立：原發性肝癌、心臟血管支架置放、高膽固醇高血脂、急慢性腎臟衰竭、高血壓、骨質疏鬆症、第一型糖尿病、心肌梗塞、視網膜局部缺血、關節炎之動物模式、活體之幹細胞抽取。
